Presentation of the Cap Ferret agency - Le Canon
Opened in 2023, the Cap Ferret Pyla Le Canon real estate agency is located in the village of Le Canon, on the Cap Ferret peninsula. Located in the commune of Lège-Cap Ferret, just a few meters from the beach, the agency has established itself as a major player in prestigious real estate in this famous seaside resort.
The team consists of 5 employees. All have professional experience in France and abroad, and extensive training in the real estate business. They are committed to providing the highest level of satisfaction to their upscale clientele.
The agency specializes in property transactions in Arcachon, Pyla and Cap Ferret. The teams are able to assist customers in English, Italian and Spanish.
The Cap Ferret real estate market
The basin's real estate market has always been bullish, with more demand than supply, and steady loan growth. Thanks to the TGV high-speed rail link between Paris and Bordeaux, the basin can be reached in just 2 hours 45 minutes, making it an ideal location for a second home.
During the health crisis, prices soared by around 40%, a trend that has continued until recently. With the advent of home confinement and telecommuting, the typology of buyers has changed slightly. Purchasers are increasingly younger, and come to live with their children as their main residence.
The clientele is essentially French and Parisian. There is also a growing international clientele, from border countries in Central Europe, Switzerland, Belgium, Holland and Germany.
Customer criteria have evolved over time. While the Pointe du Cap Ferret and its exceptional 44-hectare district, or the center of Cap Ferret, have long been the public's favorites, today it's the villages higher up on the peninsula, such as La Vigne, Le Canon, L'Herbe, Grand Piquey, Claouey, Les Jacquets-Petit Piquey, that are the most successful.
The agency is able to meet all customer requirements, such as walking distance to the beach and shops, peace and quiet with a view over the basin, or a spacious, well-appointed exterior with a swimming pool. As far as the interior is concerned, customers often ask for one bathroom per room, and telecommuting obliges them to have an office room.
Cap Ferret: history and heritage
Originally, Cap Ferret was inhabited by fishermen and seasonal hunters from the other side of the basin. As if cut off from the world, the peninsula had no road linking it to the commune of Lège. In the 1950s, summer tourism developed thanks to the Bordeaux bourgeoisie, who came to spend their first summer vacations on the basin. The railroad line between Bordeaux and Arcachon, created by the Pereire brothers, was a major factor in this development.
Local personalities such as Benoît Bartherotte contributed to its expansion. After spending his childhood vacations in the region, and a brilliant professional career, he decided to devote himself to defending the Pointe du Cap Ferret.
Cap-Ferret is the ideal place to relax, with its waterfront houses surrounded by pine trees, and its dirt roads and paths. It embodies the vacation spirit par excellence. Its natural environment and ever-changing bay are unique features found nowhere else.
In the 1860s, numerous oyster huts were built on the peninsula to meet the ever-increasing demand for oysters on the Bay of Arcachon. Oysters can be tasted in the many oyster huts. A detour to the Mayzou restaurant, at the foot of the lighthouse, is highly recommended, with its exotic world cuisine.
The Sotheby's International Realty network brings real added value thanks to its high standards in terms of legal requirements, professionalism and quality of service. The Sotheby's International Realty brand is also fundamentally focused on the discretion of transactions; the agency that represents it strives to guarantee its values to customers.
