Presentation of the Paris Marais agency
Located in the Marais district in the heart of Paris's renowned 3rd arrondissement, Paris Marais Sotheby's International Realty was founded by Pascale Constans and Fabrice Le Ruyet. Since 2005, it has been affiliated with the “Paris Ouest Sotheby's International Realty” network of West Paris real estate agencies, and is now an integral part of the prestigious Sotheby's International Realty network.
Close to the historic Place des Vosges, just a few steps from the Musée Carnavalet and the Musée Picasso, the agency is inspired by the elegance of its surroundings. The discreet, refined decor features Lesage embroidery and authentic moldings.
The team of four to six employees is highly qualified in the real estate professions and fluent in English, Portuguese, Russian and Italian. Specializing in the sale and long-term rental of all types of property, we offer our high-end clientele exceptional properties, from studios to private mansions, from townhouses with no outside space to family homes with gardens and terraces.
The Paris real estate market
The real estate market in Paris's 3rd arrondissement is very active and highly sought-after by both French and foreign buyers, including Americans, Brazilians, and Europeans of Italian, Luxembourg, Swiss and Irish origin.
French buyers are often local families or provincial clients. The latter opt for small surface areas so that they can work in Paris two or three days a week and telecommute the rest of the week. American customers are looking for a pied-à-terre to take advantage of the green spaces and numerous walks offered by their neighborhood during their stay. Foreign customers appreciate the cosy charm of a typical apartment with parquet flooring, ceiling moldings and a beautiful fireplace. In addition, they look for charming common areas offering extra comfort, such as an elevator or the presence of a janitor.
Paris: history and heritage
In medieval times, the Marais district was still a swamp. Thanks to a royal act by Louis VII, it became the “kitchen of Paris”. During the 18th century, seigneurs and bourgeois began building magnificent townhouses and family homes. In 1962, André Malraux, Minister of Culture, passed a bill to preserve the historic center of Paris. In the 17th century, Henri IV built the Place des Vosges, formerly known as Place Royale. Today, it's the ideal place for a stroll, while admiring its arcades, red bricks and private mansions. The stunning structure of the Georges Pompidou Place Beaubourg center and the cobbled Rue de Rambuteau are not to be missed.
The Marais is a cultural hot spot, with numerous art and history museums such as the Swedish Institute, Musée Cognacq-Jay and Musée Carnavalet. Not to mention its many parks, offering a gentle respite from the hustle and bustle of the city, and its many terraces where you can enjoy the lively yet relaxed atmosphere typical of the district.
Our international network of over 1,000 branches worldwide offers customers considerable advantages in terms of exchanges and resources. As a family-run business, we place great emphasis on providing each customer with personalized support from a single, dedicated contact.
